After a two-year hiatus, Odagled returns with a deeply introspective work that reflects his growth and artistic maturity.
The EP begins with “Walking Alone”, a deeply emotive piece that captures solitude and the quest for clarity. Utilizing the Roland 101 and layered percussion, Odagled constructs a rich soundscape that blends haunting atmospheres with a sense of quiet resilience.
Next comes a collaboration with Aiyu, a rising talent whose unique vocal style complements Odagled’s intricate production. Born from a serendipitous meeting during a music production course, this track highlights the synergy between the two artists, resulting in a work that is both emotive and musically sophisticated.
The title track, “Shadows of the Past”, delves into themes of transformation, inspired by a pivotal period in Odagled’s personal life. Infused with POP and Indie rhythms, this track weaves dynamic basslines and soaring synths into a cathartic experience.
The EP concludes with “Wheels & Waves”, a lively track inspired by Odagled’s time surf-skating through Málaga. Nostalgic 80s tones from the Korg MicroKorg and a groove-driven rhythm make this piece a joyous celebration of movement and freedom.
